I've been waiting for the friendster to resume its regular airing. For the past 3 days, friendster was in turmoil. I lost my friends on the list [sighs] from 200+ to 15 people left, my gosh!.. What happen to you people? Am I goin to retrieve those from my list?
I was in complete disaster today that my friends were deleted from my list. Until I found out that it happened not only in saudi arabia but universal (as in universal talagaa!). I kept on blaming my laptop for it is not working very well. I am about to throw it away na nga eh (yabang, Lol!) but I realize na mas mahal pa ito kesa sa friendster na yan. I acquire friendster for free di ba? kaya I keep my laptop and set aside friendster for the moment until the repair is totally done.
Anyhow, friendster exerted effort to clean the mess made by hackers! Be patient and you will still be connected with your love ones as soon as this damage is repaired.
friendster, friendster, friendddds...ter!

After work on the 31st of Oct., I went straight to western union to send my money remittance to the Philippines. Before leaving the office, I secured the envelope where the whole amount was being kept. The money was intact that's why I proceeded to my destination which is Enjaz remittance center in Al Khobar( western union affiliate). I arrived there exactly when salah started (routine prayer schedule for muslim). As usual, I stood infront of the enjaz main door while waiting for the opening of the establishment. While waiting and standing in the que, I kept my eyes on my pocket securing the envelope while laughing with my friend who arrived that moment. The salah was finished and everybody were hurried to find their respective places in the que going to cashier (pushing each other). When I reached the interior of the establishment, I immediately filled up the form and went back to the que again. I'am about to pick up the money from my pocket, but its all gone (shit!.. heaven forgive me for the word). I was in speechless mode (thats the money I earned for the past month). Everyone were sympathytic especially the kabayan who happened to be there to send their remittances to their respective families back home.

Hello dear readers! This morning I recieved numerous Diwali greetings from Indian friends in the office. Honestly, I don't have any idea what Diwali celebration is until my close friend and happened to be my mentor in premier unit explained it to me (promoting Indian tourism, lol! "Susmita Sen ikaw ba yan?"). Then, I got to fully understood what this celebration all about. Besides, that would be another contribution to my exposure to asian culture and tradition, right?!

Diwali is one the most well-known Indian festival and is often referred to as the "Festival of Lights". The word itself means "row of lighted clay lamps." It is a five day celebration marked with bright color, oil lamps, feast, and sparklers. Diwali occurs on the 15th day of the Hindu month of Kartika (during October/November in the Gregorean calendar). Homes, courtyards, and rooftops are commonly decorated with small oil lamps (called diyas). Rangoli, a form of colorful sand paintings, adorns doorsteps.
The festival marks the victory of good over evil, and uplifting of spiritual darkness. Symbolically it marks the home coming of goodwill and faith after an absence, as suggested by the Ramanaya.
On the day of Diwali, many wear new clothes and share sweets and snacks. Some nort indian business communities start their financial year on Diwali and new account books are opened on this day. In India, Diwali is now considered to be the national festival, and the aesthetic aspect of the festival is enjoyed by most indian regardless of faith.
To all those (muslim and non-muslim) who might be reading this, dont get me wrong!. I was just amazed by the asian culture and tradition. Learn to appreciate things because that is part of you wherever you may go.
Thank you talaga Tsutsubels for the information!
Last october 23 with friends and lovers (lol! did I mentioned names?) went out to see the "Saring Himig" concert held at Al Andalus International School in Al-Khobar. We were there as expectators besides from being a friend to some of the members. The concert was amazingggg! That's the word I truely treasured when I asked a child seating beside me (not pinoy).
Oops, I forgot to mention on the above statement that I joined as expectator for FREE, what a blessingggg! Thank you sa mga friends na sponsors..Looking forward to your next concert!
God bless us all!
Good day fellow bloggers! 2 weeks ago i sat infront of our television set and heard the most talked about topic around the world, the melamine scare!. Though we are not that affected here in Saudi Arabia maybe because of our misinformation about the global concern, but we were all worried about our family back home. To understand fully what is melamine, I decided to write this article for the concern of every filipino working in Saudi Arabia.
Firstly, we have to understand what is melamine and its composition and how does it spoof the protein levels in baby milk formula?
Melamine is an organic compounds, a base with chemical formula C3H6N6. Officially it is 1,3,5-triazine -2,4,6-triamine in the IUPAC nomenclature system(CAS # 108-78-1). It is has a molecular mass of just over 126, forms a white, crystalline powder, and is only slightly soluble in water. It is used in fire retardants in polymers resin because its high nitrogen content released as a flame-stifling nitrogen gas when the compound is burned or charred.
Indeed, it is this high nitrogen level 66 % nitrogen by mass in melamine that gives it the analytical characteristics of protein molecules. Melamine can also be described as a cyanamide units joined in a ring. It is described as being harmful according to its MSDS sheet:"Harmful if swallowed, inhaled or absorbed through the skin. Chronic exposure may cause cancer or reproductive damage. Eye, skin and respiratory irritant." Not something you would want in your infant's milk. However, that said, the toxic dose is rather high, on a par with common table salt with an LD50 of more than 3 grams per kilogram of body weight.

Previously, melamine was found in exported pet food last year and blamed for killing thousands of cats and dogs in the U.S. Bloomberg also reports that analysis of samples of ice cream produced by Yili have also revealed the presence of melamine. Melamine also plays a role in a range of flame resistant materials. These include textile used in upholstery and the uniform worn by firemen. Thermal liners, heat resistant gloves and aprons to protect from flashback of hot substance are made using melamine.
Today, we learn that several thousand babies in china are seriously ill, having suffered acute kidney failure, with several fatalities, among those given milk formula contaminated with industrial
melamine.
Whenever melamine ingested, melamine will remain inside the kidney and will form a stone blocking the tubes. Pain will be eminent and the person having kidney stone will be having hard time to pee. kidney swelling will follow. Although surgery can remove the stones, but it will still cause irreversible kidney damage. It can lead to loss of kidney function and will acquire kidney dialysis or lead to death of uremia.
What is dialysis? In fact, it should be called "blood Washing", filtering the blood using the high technology device. The whole process takes 4 hours and it is necessary to undergo dialysis once for every 3 days for the rest of your life.Well, this type of thing seems to becoming the norm rather than the exception. People who knowingly do this kind of things to children need to be punished. I dont care if they are from China, U.S, Europe or whatever. The companies who are poisoning babies with melamine chemical need to be punished and let them pay the damage (pinapainit nyo ulo ko, hehehehe!)

Photos show the sub dialysis catheter where the tube inserted during the process of dialysis.
