Hello photo challengers! I came up with these photos this week's challenge. Hope you like those. I find photography a challenging job and a therapy for my homesickness especially these days. Thank you for the inspiration ma'am Wendy!

There were rules set by the saudi government for every expatriates to follow. One prohibition is taking photos in public esp. with single women and public properties like mosque, banks and government agencies, but families were excempted from this rule. In my case, I have my own rules, why? because my name is "King", lol! Seriously, you have to abide the set rules otherwise you will end up behind prison bars. I took every photos with care and caution. If they were given a chance to check these photos, perhaps they will like those, lol!. Who do you think the first one disobeyed the rules (??)...

Thanks and goodluck to all participants!

Happy Diwali!!

Hello dear readers! This morning I recieved numerous Diwali greetings from Indian friends in the office. Honestly, I don't have any idea what Diwali celebration is until my close friend and happened to be my mentor in premier unit explained it to me (promoting Indian tourism, lol! "Susmita Sen ikaw ba yan?"). Then, I got to fully understood what this celebration all about. Besides, that would be another contribution to my exposure to asian culture and tradition, right?!

Diwali is one the most well-known Indian festival and is often referred to as the "Festival of Lights". The word itself means "row of lighted clay lamps." It is a five day celebration marked with bright color, oil lamps, feast, and sparklers. Diwali occurs on the 15th day of the Hindu month of Kartika (during October/November in the Gregorean calendar). Homes, courtyards, and rooftops are commonly decorated with small oil lamps (called diyas). Rangoli, a form of colorful sand paintings, adorns doorsteps.

The festival marks the victory of good over evil, and uplifting of spiritual darkness. Symbolically it marks the home coming of goodwill and faith after an absence, as suggested by the Ramanaya.

On the day of Diwali, many wear new clothes and share sweets and snacks. Some nort indian business communities start their financial year on Diwali and new account books are opened on this day. In India, Diwali is now considered to be the national festival, and the aesthetic aspect of the festival is enjoyed by most indian regardless of faith.

To all those (muslim and non-muslim) who might be reading this, dont get me wrong!. I was just amazed by the asian culture and tradition. Learn to appreciate things because that is part of you wherever you may go.

Thank you talaga Tsutsubels for the information!

God bless you!

Saring Himig Concert

Good day fellow bloggers and photographer friends around the globe especially to Wendy and Helen who gave me inspiration to my new hobby. Here is my newest blog update created just today co'z I am a little bit busy for 2 days and wasn't able to upload photos from my file.
Enjoy reading, although some words were writen in our own language, but some interpreted in english for your own benefit.
Last october 23 with friends and lovers (lol! did I mentioned names?) went out to see the "Saring Himig" concert held at Al Andalus International School in Al-Khobar. We were there as expectators besides from being a friend to some of the members. The concert was amazingggg! That's the word I truely treasured when I asked a child seating beside me (not pinoy).

Mickey, Jon & Eds were all there to witness the yearly concert of the group for charitable purposes. Sayang nga lang at di nag guest si Eds(yung nakatalikod, ang ganda ng boses nyan parang negro, lol!). [Regreting that Eds was not able to appear during concert as a singer co'z he has a good quality of voice similar to black singers in hollywood]. (kaloka ang papaya soap eds, lol!)

The photos taken during the concert proper:

Young talents from eastern province.
Ang galing naman ni kuya Oni! [good job elder brod Oni] (literal ang interpretation, lol!)

You did the right job Marlo. You made me laugh to the max, lol!

Oops, I forgot to mention on the above statement that I joined as expectator for FREE, what a blessingggg! Thank you sa mga friends na sponsors..Looking forward to your next concert!

God bless us all!
